Home Office: Stylish Coffee Table Books

Living In Style |HUEDomino: The Book of DecoratingLittle Black Dress |French Style | Avedon Fashion 1944-2000

We are setting into our new home and making progress with the interior design process in my office space. The office was one of the first rooms I wanted to focus on, mostly because I spend most days of the week working from here and I am one of those people who cannot work and focus unless my workspace is clean, organized, and styled.  So this weekend I selected and ordering coffee table books and accessories {check back tomorow for more on this!} to fill up the ridiculous amount of built in shelving in here. It seems a bit crazy to me to have to buy so many books and other items to display but I am sure once the shelves are styled the finished look will be fabulous. With the help of Lea, with The Casa Pino, we are hoping to get the office space completed in the next month or so and I will be sure to share the "after" photos.

How To Add Some Fun To Your Spring Wardrobe

It finally feels like Spring around here and it is the perfect time to edit and update your spring wardrobe. I tend to stick with neturals and darker colors in the winter but for Spring I am excited to add color and fun to my wardrobe with metallics, florals, and pastels.  These metallic flats from Boden are a great way to add some glam and fun to a casual and basic weekday outfit.

Have you checked out Boden? This British clothing brand aims for their clothing to make you feel like your best self and serve as a splash of happy in your life.

Disclosure: This post was sponsored by Boden through their partnership with POPSUGAR. While I was compensated by POPSUGAR to write a post about Boden, all opinions are my own.

STYLE PROFILE- Jessica Maniatis of JSGD

Today's style profile features my amazing and talented graphic designer Jessica Maniatis of JSGD. I met Jessica almost 4 years ago a few months after I started my blog STYLE'N. Jessica helped me with my first blog redesign back in 2010 and with the design of my new business website in 2013.

JSGD is a boutique identity & digital agency focused on problem solving through functional beauty and collaboration. We work with small and big businesses alike, walking them through the development of a strong brand identify that sets them apart.

     1. What does a typical day look like for you?

I'm not the best at waking up – it's actually quite embarrassing – so my day generally starts with oversleeping then rushing to the studio where I take Oscar for a quick walk, grab coffee, and meet with the team for our project check-in, where we go over the day's priorities. Studio days tend to fly by in a whirlwind of calls, meetings, and long black-holes of coding. My husband is an amazing cook so coming home at night is truly relaxing – he even pours me a glass of wine while I decompress and he cooks (spoiled, I know).

    2. How would you describe your personal style?

Lately, very relaxed. I tend towards comfortable and classic pieces that I won't tire of over trendy items that only last a season. My wardrobe consists of mostly neutrals (lots of black and gray) and an unhealthy amount of denim. I've been trying to add prints and color here and there – and am feeling proud of myself for having finally mixed a handful of those in. Same goes with shoes – I've gradually swapped out all my heels and pumps for boots and booties. They're still occupying space in my closet though, as I simply can't part with a gorgeous heel – even if I never wear it ;)

    3. What are your favorite items in your wardrobe and why?

A friend recently turned me on to Courtshop denim and I've obsessively stocked up on a few pairs of some great higher-waisted skinnies. There is one light gray pair that I seem to wear more than any others and they're so easily dressed up or down. Other than that, basic staples like a good black T, loose black sweaters, and a solid black blazer – these are items I repeatedly purchase and can't get enough of.

    4. Do you have any style or beauty secrets to share?

I'm a nut for skin oils and have fallen in love with one by Dr. Alkaitis. We just started working with an amazing, all-natural skincare shop in the South End, Follain, and not only do they carry the line but have introduced me to so many amazing products – my skin routine has seriously upped its game!

    5. How do you spend your "me" time?

There's never enough of it. Running a business is a never-ending project. I'd like to say I leave work at the studio, but I find myself on the laptop more nights than I should. I have daydreams of going to more yoga classes and on long vacations but it's tough. That said, we finally booked our Honeymoon for this summer so it will be 3 weeks of much needed relaxation!

    6. What is the most important thing you have learned through running your own business?

Trust your gut. I make so many decisions every day and if I didn't stop to listen to my instincts, I honestly don't think I'd have gotten this far.

    7. What is your mantra?

Start where you are. It works in every scenario – and is tattooed on my right foot ;)
