Green Onion and Coconut Chickpea Curry

Whenever we travel to Vancouver one of our first stops is Vij's restaurant.  And ever since we got Vij's cookbook, Aneesh and I have enjoyed experimenting with recipes on our "cooking date nights." These date nights typically consist of trying a new recipe from Vij's, listening to the best of the 80's on Pandora, and opening up a really nice bottle of a Pax syrah.  This past Sunday Aneesh made green onion and coconut chickpea curry, by far one of the easiest recipes in the book.  Ariyana enjoyed this so much she requested leftovers to take to preschool the next day.

    Go Green

We kicked off the weekend by staying in Friday and making homemade pizza and watching the 2 hour season premiere of Grey's Anatomy.  And Saturday Aneesh took Ariyana to the zoo for a birthday party so I took the opportunity to do some shopping. I stopped by Dress on Newbury and bought these amazing MiH "Oslo" slim-leg jeans. I am pretty sure these will be my "go to" jeans for the fall because they are comfortable, soft, and look great with flats, heels, and boots. I paired up the jeans with this green silk blouse I recently got on sale at Ann Taylor. This blouse is great for work but if you untuck the shirt, roll up the sleeves, and add a belt, the blouse can be worn more casually.

Boston Fashion week also started this week and Saturday night Aneesh and I joined our friends at the mike&ton and Michael DePaulo Fashion Shows and after party at Towne.  The entire evening was so much fun and it was great to support Mike and Tonya and check out their fabulous collections.

On Sunday I took Ariyana to another birthday party and we ended off the weekend with Aneesh making us all a delicous and healthy home cooked meal.  Stay tuned later this week for the recipe.

    Stylish Things

My new favorite accessory: Stacked bracelets from Alexandra's Inspirations.  These crystal humanity bracelets are gorgeous and would make excellent holiday gifts. My colleague and friend Chris is the designer behind Alexandra's Inspirations and she only uses top quality Swarovski crystal and sterling silver.

I managed to find a few cute items from the Missoni for Target collection including these lovely mini journals. I love keeping a journal in my purse to jot down notes, blog post ideas, recipes, grocery lists, etc...

My morning now involves creating healthy and tasty lunch options for Ariyana.  So far antipasto is in the lead.  For all you moms out there, feel free to send me some of your favorite lunches that have worked for your little ones.

    Buttons, Ribbons, and Polka Dots

We had one of those rare types of weekends where we did not have too many pre set plans.  Friday evening I must have been exhausted from the week (or maybe it was those margarita's my sister and I had at dinner) because I went to sleep at 9pm.  On Saturday I treated myself to a massage (because after working out for 6 days straight I could barely move) and took Ariyana for a much needed haircut and new shoes for the fall. I had her hair cut short and even though I love it and it is super cute, for the first time I feel like my little baby looks so grown up.

Ann Taylor was right around the corner from the salon so of course I popped in for the 40% off sale and within 15 minutes (you know because that's as long as a 3 year old can handle being in women's clothing store) I managed to find several amazing items for fall. This red bag was one of the first things that caught my eye.  And ever since I got this skirt from Milly in New York I have been on the search for a polka dot blouse to go with it. So I was so excited when the lovely folks over at EmersonMade sent me this black and cream ribbons blouse from their Fall '11 Collection. With the cooler temperatures now approaching I am finally in the mood to add a few key fall pieces to my wardrobe.
