    Stylish Things

My new favorite accessory: Stacked bracelets from Alexandra's Inspirations.  These crystal humanity bracelets are gorgeous and would make excellent holiday gifts. My colleague and friend Chris is the designer behind Alexandra's Inspirations and she only uses top quality Swarovski crystal and sterling silver.

I managed to find a few cute items from the Missoni for Target collection including these lovely mini journals. I love keeping a journal in my purse to jot down notes, blog post ideas, recipes, grocery lists, etc...

My morning now involves creating healthy and tasty lunch options for Ariyana.  So far antipasto is in the lead.  For all you moms out there, feel free to send me some of your favorite lunches that have worked for your little ones.

    Buttons, Ribbons, and Polka Dots

We had one of those rare types of weekends where we did not have too many pre set plans.  Friday evening I must have been exhausted from the week (or maybe it was those margarita's my sister and I had at dinner) because I went to sleep at 9pm.  On Saturday I treated myself to a massage (because after working out for 6 days straight I could barely move) and took Ariyana for a much needed haircut and new shoes for the fall. I had her hair cut short and even though I love it and it is super cute, for the first time I feel like my little baby looks so grown up.

Ann Taylor was right around the corner from the salon so of course I popped in for the 40% off sale and within 15 minutes (you know because that's as long as a 3 year old can handle being in women's clothing store) I managed to find several amazing items for fall. This red bag was one of the first things that caught my eye.  And ever since I got this skirt from Milly in New York I have been on the search for a polka dot blouse to go with it. So I was so excited when the lovely folks over at EmersonMade sent me this black and cream ribbons blouse from their Fall '11 Collection. With the cooler temperatures now approaching I am finally in the mood to add a few key fall pieces to my wardrobe.

This week has been full of transitions. Last year Ariyana was in an afternoon preschool program, but this past week she started back at preschool and she has to be there early in the mornings.  Ariyana seems to be doing just fine with her new sleep schedule and is adjusting to her new classroom. But I am the one having a harder time with this new transition. I am so exhausted by the end of day that I have been curling up in bed with a book or my laptop around 9 pm and I am sound asleep by 10!

This week I also started back at the gym after not being able to work out for a couple of months.  I mixed up my workout routine with running, core fusion, a personal training session, and yoga.  It definitely feels good to be able to transition back to a regular workout schedule.

And yesterday after work Aneesh and I grabbed dinner at The Capital Grille and headed over to Ariyana's school for Parent's Night. There is really nothing unique or all that interesting about this outfit except that I needed an outfit that would transition from work to dinner to Parent's Night.  I decided to go with a pink silk blouse, a pencil skirt, and a fun polka dot scarf.

Tiffany & Co. - Part II

Last week I had the wonderful pleasure of hosting Fashion's Night Out with Tiffany & Co. at the Natick Collection. It was a fun evening filled with shopping, live music, and tons of great food.

Of course I couldn't resist and had to try on jewelry while I was there including this love square ring from the new Era collection. It would go perfectly with my new necklace. I also checked out the fragrances, sunglasses, and handbags. One of my favorite items was the brown suede and metallic reversible tote. It is super soft, comes in a variety of colors, and includes a detachable zipper pouch.

On Friday evening Lani, Lissy, Lissy's sister Angela, Sarah, Marissa, and I attended the Gen Art Fresh Faces in Fashion Show in New York.  This is a legendary fashion event which has debuted designers Zac Posen, Philip Lim, Rebecca Taylor, Lulu Frost, Milly, and others. This year the show brought together 11 of the hottest rising ready-to-wear and accessory designers including Anne Yee, William Okpo, Sunghee Bang, ace & jig, Eighteenth, and our favorite Jennifer Chun.

Jennifer Chun's Spring/Summer collection is feminine yet sophisticated and most importantly every single piece is wearable. She uses rich, bold textures mixed with hints of unique patterns to create looks that are unique yet classic. Stay tuned for Jennifer Chun's Spring/Summer collection, but in the meantime be sure to check out her Fall/Winter '11 Collection.
