I am not  really a huge fan of animal prints but I adore the print of this shrug and love how soft it is.  I can't wait to wear it in the fall with either an all black outfit or with jeans and a simple white V-neck tee. (Lola shrug c/o CAbi)

When I had dinner at The Gallows the other night our coffee was served with milk in this adorable cow creamer. It is so cute I had to go buy one this week. Don't you think it would make an excellent hostess gift?

A routine lunch get together with my girlfriends at Scampo and all 4 of us ordered these refreshing and delicious mojito's with a splash of pomegranate juice. (IPhone photo)

A new pair of classic black suede peep-toe pumps to take with me to New York city this weekend.

Beautiful flowers that arrived on my doorstep last Sunday. (Also seen on my Facebook page )

A handwritten note to send to my brother for Rakhi next week.

    Have a great weekend!

    The Gallows

(special thanks to Rachna for taking this photo!)

Last night I met up with my friend Arika and my sister Rachna for dinner at The Gallows in the South End. It was my first time eating here and I loved it. The people were so incredibly friendly and the food was simple yet delicious.  The menu is set up for sharing so the three of us ordered several small plates including gravy soaked poutine, BLT tacos, and striped bass ceviche.

And my goodness did we have some crazy weather in the evening. The temperature got a bit cooler and it was sunny one minute and the pouring rain the next. I decided to go forgo wearing a summer sundress and opted for this unseasonable yet weather appropriate outfit instead.

Reader Request: What To Wear To A Reunion

Stephanie, a loyal STYLE'N reader, contacted me because she is attending a reunion this weekend and is looking for styling options for this amazing dress she just purchased. It was hard to narrow it down but here are a few styling options I put together on polyvore.  The dress is so versatile and can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion.  Stephanie can make the outfit casual by adding a pair of flat sandals and a cute tote or even belt the dress and wear it as a long tunic with jean leggings and a pair of flats. She can even dress it up again with a pair of nude or black heels for a dinner date out with her husband.

This weekend my parents were visiting from North Carolina and we all had a great time relaxing and enjoying the beautiful weather in Boston.  On Saturday we had dinner at Toro, one of our favorite dinner spots in Boston, and then we all walked over to my sister's place and hung out on her roof deck for a couple of hours. When we were not out exploring the local restaurants, my sister and I took the opportunity to learn how to make a few of my mom's wonderful recipes. I am hoping I can replicate the recipes and share them with all of you.

On Sunday night Aneesh and I decided to take an evening stroll and we stopped by Stella for a casual dinner at the bar.  After having coconut macaroons at Flour, churros with chocolate sauce at Toro, and pecan pie with vanilla ice cream at Stella this weekend, I am going to have to refrain from eating anything sweet for at least a couple of days!

    Stylish Things

One of my goals right now is to figure out all the features and buttons on my DSLR camera and to learn how to take better pictures. So I love putting together the stylish things post things post because it gives me the opportunity to practice my photography skills.

A new way to organize and display my expanding collection of sunglasses

I just added this bedside carafe to the guest room side table. Perfect timing since my parents just arrived today for a weekend visit.

My new favorite make up routine is to simply use bronzer and the NARS multiple to achieve a healthy and glowing (natural) tan for the summer.

Lately I have been obsessed with sweet and salty crunchy treats. First it was Stacy's cinnamon sugar pita chips and now it's kettle corn.

And in case you missed seeing this on my Facebook page, I now have my own makeup assistant.
