Stephanie, a loyal STYLE'N reader, contacted me because she is attending a reunion this weekend and is looking for styling options for this amazing dress she just purchased. It was hard to narrow it down but here are a few styling options I put together on polyvore. The dress is so versatile and can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion. Stephanie can make the outfit casual by adding a pair of flat sandals and a cute tote or even belt the dress and wear it as a long tunic with jean leggings and a pair of flats. She can even dress it up again with a pair of nude or black heels for a dinner date out with her husband.

This weekend my parents were visiting from North Carolina and we all had a great time relaxing and enjoying the beautiful weather in Boston. On Saturday we had dinner at Toro, one of our favorite dinner spots in Boston, and then we all walked over to my sister's place and hung out on her roof deck for a couple of hours. When we were not out exploring the local restaurants, my sister and I took the opportunity to learn how to make a few of my mom's wonderful recipes. I am hoping I can replicate the recipes and share them with all of you.
On Sunday night Aneesh and I decided to take an evening stroll and we stopped by Stella for a casual dinner at the bar. After having coconut macaroons at Flour, churros with chocolate sauce at Toro, and pecan pie with vanilla ice cream at Stella this weekend, I am going to have to refrain from eating anything sweet for at least a couple of days!
One of my goals right now is to figure out all the features and buttons on my DSLR camera and to learn how to take better pictures. So I love putting together the stylish things post things post because it gives me the opportunity to practice my photography skills.
A new way to organize and display my expanding collection of sunglasses
I just added this bedside carafe to the guest room side table. Perfect timing since my parents just arrived today for a weekend visit.
Lately I have been obsessed with sweet and salty crunchy treats. First it was Stacy's cinnamon sugar pita chips and now it's kettle corn.
And in case you missed seeing this on my Facebook page, I now have my own makeup assistant.
We end up eating many of our meals out on the weekends so by Monday night we are all craving Indian food. This semi-homemade meal is quickly becoming one of our go to recipes for salmon. If you like Indian food and you're looking for a quick and easy way to make tikka masala at home this dish is for you. This ready made Tikka Masala simmer sauce is full of intense flavors and all you have to do is add fish, chicken, or tofu. I like to top off the dish with some cilantro and serve it with garlic naan and a chopped salad consisting of cucumbers, onions, and tomatoes. And I am still amazed that my 3 year old actually likes and requests salmon for dinner!

Ariyana-Bird of Paradise Dress c/o Tea Collection, Gap sandals
On Saturday I spent much of the day relaxing at home so it was nice to get dressed up in the evening and head over to my sister and her fiancé's place for dinner on their roof deck. It has been so hot here that Ariyana and I have been staying cool in simple cotton dresses like these from Tea Collection. Ariyana's dress is part of the new Jardin Azul children's collection and my tunic (worn here as a dress) is part of the Barcelona-inspired women's collection. As cooler weather approaches, both of these will be great pieces to transition by simply adding leggings or jeans and a cardigan.
Lately I have been swapping out my designer sunglasses for inexpensive, fun, and trendy ones like this pair. And since I gravitate towards these nude shades of lip gloss I am experimenting with some new lip colors. I recently stocked up on some NARS makeup and got this lovely pink shade of lipstick. What are your favorite shades of lipstick for the summer?
