    Simmer and Serve

We end up eating many of our meals out on the weekends so by Monday night we are all craving Indian food.  This semi-homemade meal is quickly becoming one of our go to recipes for salmon. If you like Indian food and you're looking for a quick and easy way to make tikka masala at home this dish is for you. This ready made Tikka Masala simmer sauce is full of intense flavors and all you have to do is add fish, chicken, or tofu. I like to top off the dish with some cilantro and serve it with garlic naan and a chopped salad consisting of cucumbers, onions, and tomatoes. And I am still amazed that my 3 year old actually likes and requests salmon for dinner!

    Saturday Cookout

Naina- Nouveau Viollet Tunic (worn here as a dress) c/o Tea Collection, Stuart Weitzman shoes, Ann Taylor belt, Loft sunglasses

Ariyana-Bird of Paradise Dress c/o Tea Collection, Gap sandals

On Saturday I spent much of the day relaxing at home so it was nice to get dressed up in the evening and head over to my sister and her fiancé's place for dinner on their roof deck. It has been so hot here that Ariyana and I have been staying cool in simple cotton dresses like these from Tea Collection. Ariyana's dress is part of the new Jardin Azul children's collection and my tunic (worn here as a dress) is part of the Barcelona-inspired women's collection. As cooler weather approaches, both of these will be great pieces to transition by simply adding leggings or jeans and a cardigan.

Lately I have been swapping out my designer sunglasses for inexpensive, fun, and trendy ones like this pair.  And since I gravitate towards these nude shades of lip gloss  I am experimenting with some new lip colors. I recently stocked up on some NARS makeup and got this lovely pink shade of lipstick. What are your favorite shades of lipstick for the summer?

    An Impromptu Family Dinner Date

Naina-Loft sunglasses, Missoni blouse, Ann Taylor pencil skirt, Kenneth Cole heels, Anthropologie belt, clutch-gift from mom from India, Madewell necklace worn here as a bracelet

Ariyana-Old Navy dress and Gap sandals

Last night Aneesh called me on the way home from work and said he wanted to go out for an impromptu dinner on the patio at Franklin Cafe. I am always ready and willing to go out for a family dinner during the work week because I don't have to cook after a long day at work, I have an excuse to dress up, and it is a nice way to break up the monotony of the work week.

Since I was already wearing this blouse and skirt today for work, I just transitioned my look from day to night with the addition of a colorful wide belt, a printed clutch, and a chain necklace. Lately my favorite way to accessorize is to take one of my long necklaces and wear it as a wrap bracelet.

And while we were waiting for our table a little somebody peeked in my clutch and found my new Chanel rouge coco shine.

    CABI Fall 11 Collection

Women's designer clothing collection CAbi (Carol Anderson by Invitation), debuted its Fall '11 Collection during The Scoop-CAbi's fashion week in Long Beach, CA this past weekend. CAbi, the nation's largest and most influential direct sales clothing collection, hosts The Scoop twice a year to launch its upcoming collection. There were over 3,000 consultants in attendance at this event and Jill (Glamamom), Christina (40:20 Vision) and I were all invited as guests to preview the Fall '11 Collection.  The three of us attended the Fashion Show modeled by women of all ages and ethnicities. Also, the entire fall collection was inspired by Hollywood starlets from movies including TheDevil Wears Prada, When Harry Met Sally, and The Thomas Crown Affair, just to name a few We also had time to shop the  Spring/Summer ' 10  collection and I can't wait to share with you some of the cute items I came home with.

CAbi brings high quality clothing and the personal shopping experience to you. Carol and her design team smartly combine chic trends with timeless and flattering feminine styles, and never compromise on the quality of materials. The mission is to provide an exceptional line of clothing sold exclusively in a relaxed home environment by independent fashion Consultants.  If you're interested in shopping the Fall Collection visit CAbi for more details.

These are so many great looks in this Fall '11 collection but these looks below are my favorites. I have my eye on the french trench redux, vogue skirt, and the passion shirt.  All three pieces are classic and would make excellent additions to any fall wardrobe. And check out this adorable dot print shirt?   I don't know about you but I am definitely seeing polka dots as one of the hot trends for the fall season.
