Peplum + Stripes

Marc by Marc Jacobs “ellsworth”peplum dress, J.Crew syndey patent sandalsFendi sellaria cat eye sunglassesTory Burch metallic wrap logo stud bracelet

Peplum dresses, skirts, and blouses have been on trend for a couple of years but lately this style is everywhere. Although I was slightly hesitant at first to add extra layers of fabric on my hips,  I instantly fell in love with this dress, a combination of a peplum taffeta skirt and a normandy blue and red cotton striped top. And since the peplum and stripes are both the “pop of drama” in this outfit I kept my accessories minimal and understated. The dress is also versatile (and warm) enough to wear for a casual night out in the fall and winter. Just add a pair of boots or tights and heels and a long coat to create additional looks with the dress.  I wore the dress on Monday for Lucky Magazine’s fashion and beauty blogger (FABB) conference in Santa Monica.

You look gorgeous in it. I guess it's better to buy multi purpose dress – a dress that you can wear in any season.

You look amazing! How jealous am I that you got to attend Lucky Fab? Completely green! I actually tried on two peplum styles this past weekend and Bloomingdales and it was an utter disaster! But you wear them well! Can't wait to hear more about the conference!

PS: If you're not too jetlagged please please PLEASE come to my event on Sunday at Reiss Boston (newbury st) from 12-3! Its going to FINALLY be sunny! Or mostly sunny… ANYWAY we're having tea, cupcakes, an exclusive discount, a gift bag and mini makeovers compliments of The Loft Salon & Define Beauty! Even if you just stop by for five minutes I'd appreciate it so much. (This is the first time I'm hosting an event and I'm TERRIFIED!) xoxo
