Style Tip: Wearing Black and Brown Together

One of the most common questions women ask me is “Can I wear black and brown together?”

In the past I think it was probably not quite as acceptable to wear black and brown but now days this rule no longer applies. In fact in the fall and winter a great way to mix up your wardrobe is to wear these two colors together. Black and brown are both neutrals so they work great together and with a variety of other colors. These two colors look great together if you add some interest to the outfit with textures and patterns (as I have done here with a printed brown dress and black fur vest)  Another trick to making these colors work together is to avoid mixing up too many different shades of brown.

I love that combination. I think it's nice to work with dark colors together so that you can make a statement with small pops of color or wear it to set a certain mood. You look lovely.

I love black & brown together and I think this is a great way to wear the combination. The dress and vest are great together, but the tights really finish the look.
